Education

I graduated with a BS in Art Education from the University of Tennessee in 2003. I then went on to receive my teaching certifications in Learning Disabilities and Emotional and Behavioral Disorders from Old Dominion University in 2008.

Experience

I have 5 years of teaching experience in special education. I taught children with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Dyslexia, Hyper-lexia, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, ADD, ADHD, and Mental Retardation. I am the mother of two young children and quit teaching 2 years ago when I realized that a Special Ed. teacher needs to be able to give 100% to his or her classroom, and my primary responsibility needed to be to my family. I miss teaching, and think that tutoring students after school would be a perfect way to fulfill that desire while still keeping my family first.
